My cats love their sushi

This is the funniest thing I've seen lately. It's a catnip toy for cats that looks like sushi from Mahar Drygoods! It's made by Christen Hayden whose imaginations are just incredible. I wonder if she will make an eel sushi that's my all-time favorite. Like father like son, my cats are eating sushi like there's no tomorrow.

iPod Pocket

I don't know about you, but I haven't found a perfect iPod case for my nano. Although there're zillions of case designs out there, nothing really protects and shows off the Apple design at the same time. What's going on? I think Apple really should invest more on designing the case or even the iPod itself so that one day we won't have to worry about dropping or scratching it. I really don't think Apple fanatics want to hide these sexy toys under the ugly rubber or leather.
These funny looking iPod nano cases I found at my favorite Paris store Colette should do the job in the meantime! They are designed to be ironed onto your t-shirts, jackets, pants...whatever you wear, and your nano can be snuggled very cozily inside the pocket as you spin the tunes. I am sure stores like urban outfitters will soon carry something similar on the shelves, and you'll probably see that being hung at the Martha Stewart Everyday Collection in Kmart one day.

Gladstone Hotel Toronto

Because of my status in the U.S., I need to make a trip back to Canada once a year. And Toronto and Montreal are both my favorite choices because there's always something new and fun to see, and both are full of fresh design energy. Next time I go to Toronto, I will definitely check out this unique boutique hotel Gladstone Hotel. Every room is planned and created by a different designer/artist. Check out these 2 interesting rooms that are my favorites. 304 FAUX NATURELLE (Designed by Allyson Mitchell) has a huge paint-by-number painting that I have been psyched about lately, and it's got the Todd Oldham "handmade modern" sensibility to all the touches. 414 THE WALLS ARE SPEAKING (Designed by Day Milman and Bruno Billio) is fresh and airy with the white and blue, and it's got this cool wallpaper that illutrates the history of the hotel. Where can you find a place like that?

Set the mood of your home with DVD Light

This DVD from Realm Dekor reminded me of the VHS tape I had that plays working fireplace constantly and turns my TV into a faux fireplace during Christmas. It projects different shades of light and really sets the mood for the room. (Disco party!)I have a 32 in TV in my living room. Can you imagine staring at the TV and watching the color shift all day? I will definitely get high instantly, or have vomit reaction like those Japanese children after watching Pokymon!

It's a start

I love how these days I go to some people's blogs and their postings about design and great finds just got me excited all day. Having a blog was never a good idea to me. It made me feel so exposed. But after getting so excited by those links people posted, I need something that I can archive these great finds to and put some notes to them. That's why I am starting one here. We'll see how things go from here...
